Conlin Law Firm takes pride in the community service and pro bono work (free legal services for the poor) we have been able to provide to people in need.  We would like to share with you the type of volunteer work we have been involved in.

Tom Conlin ~ Shortly after the I-35W Bridge collapsed on August 1, 2007, Tom Conlin joined the I-35W Pro Bono Consortium, a group of attorneys providing free legal services to victims and families affected by the collapse.  Tom represented a victim in securing compensation for his injuries and damages from the State of Minnesota settlement fund and in pursuing compensation from third-party defendants.  Tom was recognized for his participation in the Pro Bono Consortium, receiving the Minnesota State Bar Association’s highest award, the “Professional Excellence Award.”

Tom Conlin has been involved with the Volunteer Lawyers Network, a volunteer-based nonprofit organization providing free civil services to low income persons.  Tom has been able to represent several people to assist them in resolving family law matters.  In addition, he has been  involved in the Tubman Center, Pro Bono Safety Project, representing women in abusive relationships.  He has also been involved in other pro bono family and tenant cases.

Stacy Deery Stennes ~ Stacy has volunteered her time with HOME Line Minnesota, where she provided free legal advice to Minnesota tenants.  She currently serves as a board member for Preventing Harm Minnesota, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of children by reducing the toxins and pollutants in our environment.  She and Tom also provide free representation to women in abusive relationships through the Tubman Safety Project.

Maria Gottwalt ~ Since 2009, Maria has volunteered in Hennepin County as a child advocate or Guardian ad Litem.  Guardians represent children caught up in the legal system as a result of abuse or neglect in their family.  During court proceedings, Guardians report to the Judge what they believe to be “in the best interest” of the child.  Maria also volunteers at the Armed Forces Service Center - an "all free" stop for active-duty military personnel, their dependents, activated reservists and national guardsmen, Department of Defense and PHS employees (on orders), and other members of the uniformed services on active duty.  The center offers military personnel a 24-hour place to sleep, rest, enjoy a light meal or snack, make phone calls, and use a computer.  Volunteers assist with these amenities.

Corinne Suby ~ As a former Legal Advocate, Corinne Suby continues to have a passion for providing services to domestic abuse victims.  She regularly volunteers her time at Tubman Family Alliance fundraisers and special programs, including the Holiday Gift Program every holiday season.

When we first met, everything was spelled out with accuracy.  There wasn’t a bunch of hype and pie in the sky figures, and we appreciated this.
